The Anoka County Historical Society is making a bold and creative move to secure its future, purchasing a stunning 160-year-old mansion to serve as both a bed and breakfast and a museum. Minnesota Live photojournalist Bill Middeke visited the historic Ticknor Hill Bed and Breakfast to explore this one-of-a-kind destination, where overnight stays begin in September with rooms ranging from $205 to $225 per night.
Last week, the Anoka City Council approved an update in their zoning to allow for historical societies in the residential neighborhood off of 3rd Ave where Ticknor Hill resides. This is to accommodate for the move that the Anoka County Historical Society is making to their new home at the historic B&B. Mayor Erik Skoguist came on the Anoka Podcast to talk with Anoka video producer Billy Austin about the move.
