All (well, some) of your questions answered
-
On the upstairs landing, you’ll find coffee pods, creamer, sugar, and honey for the Keurig coffee machine in your room. There is also a small basket of snacks for late-night munchies (donations are welcome)
In the downstairs guest kitchen, you’ll find a variety of tea, including the Mad Hatter's own “Ticknor Tea” blend, with a variety of glassware, flatware, dinnerware, a kettle, a drip coffee pot, a refrigerator with a freezer, utensils, paper products, a toaster, and a microwave available for guest use.
-
Well, not really.
For breakfast, we partner with Ginny Bites, Truffles and Tortes, Sparky’s Cafe, and Oakwood Cafe to bring you the best of Anoka’s home cooking straight from the toaster oven in the landing while you’re still in your PJs.
We will also provide milk, juice, a variety of cereals, protein bars, oatmeal packets, and other snacks.
Once you book your room, you can complete the form at the bottom of this page with your preferred breakfast selections.

No. Ticknor Hill is both a place to stay and a National Register property connected to preservation work. Owned and operated by the Anoka County Historical Society, the bed and breakfast helps support the organization’s broader mission while giving guests the chance to experience history in a living setting.

As a guest, you have exclusive access to the home's second level, a guaranteed parking space, and “first dibs” on the kitchen and (unrented) Greenwald Room. Depending on the day, a program or activity may be taking place on the property. You can find that information in our calendar. You have a standing invitation to join in on the fun or not, as you are moved to in the moment.

No. Like many historic properties, Ticknor Hill includes guest areas, staff areas, and preservation-related spaces. Overnight guests can enjoy designated rooms and common spaces, while some areas may be limited to protect operations, privacy, safety, or collections work.

Yes. Every reservation supports preservation by helping sustain a historic property and the work of the Anoka County Historical Society. A stay at Ticknor Hill is not only a getaway; it is also a practical way to help keep local history visible, useful, and cared for.
