A little Ticknor Tea
Sorting through photos as one does, I came across this one from the end of January when the Mad Hatter teahouse generously hosted the Historical Society for a fundraiser.
For two fabulous hours, generous people filled the back room with laughter and hugs, donated much needed funds to cover various legal fees and realty fees associated with purchasing the property, and reassured us that this exciting but risky venture was the right one. Especially heartwarming was the appearance of Deb and Dave Wallace, the current owners of Ticknor Hill Ed breakfast. These two have poured so much of their time and effort into making the property beautiful and welcoming such that people felt the spirit leaking out of the wood.
If you understand how old buildings and properties vibrate on different frequencies, then I don’t need to explain it… If you don’t, I beg you to stop over and stand in the garden and close your eyes. Just imagine 160 years worth of footsteps walking past the road and along the driveway, up to the door. Then, hopefully soon (like August!) you can wander in and put your hand on the banister and feel that original wood and wonder how many other stories touched it before you.
